This blog post is to UFF members. You do your part, paying dues, but the union is all of us, working together. We are a volunteer organization, and we need volunteers.
Since this is election season, we ask you to consider helping out by running for an office or a representative seat.
- If you are interested in serving your colleagues as a chapter officer or representative, please download nomination form (as self-nominations are encouraged), fill it in, and email it to the Election Chair, Susan Ariew. And soon the UFF office in Tallahassee will announce details for the upcoming special election for a president to serve the remaining year of the current term. All UFF members are eligible to run and vote in that election.
- The elective offices are the president (who nominates and appoints people), the vice president (who assists the president), the secretary (who keeps minutes and stuff), and the treasurer (who signs the checks).
- The representative seats are for senators, who represent USF at the statewide UFF senate meetings, and the delegates, who represent UFF at the statewide Florida Education Association meetings. All nomination forms are due Friday, March 1st.
