Minutes. Minutes of the 12 January 2024 meeting approved.
President’s Report.
- Certification. 629 cards have been collected thus far, 38% of the bargaining unit. This satisfies the legal requirement, but for logistical and political reasons, we want a large supermajority.
- UFF Leadership. Discussion of the status of litigation before PERC. Meanwhile, UFF is seeking a new executive director.
New Business
- Election Committee. Motion to approve the proposal of the Election Committee. Motion approved.
- Memorial for Bob Welker. Planning is underway.
Reports.
- Grievances. Six instructors were laid off in violation of the contract, and are now no longer being paid. UFF is representing them in a grievance – now in litigation.
- Motion made and seconded to pay the dues of these laid off instructors in order to maintain their good standing. Motion passes.
Several grievances underway, particular in Nursing.
- Treasury. We are solvent.
