Chapter Minutes 12 March 2021

Time and place. This meeting was conducted at 12 noon on Zoom.


Attendance. 19 members attending, including five members of the Council, one staff, and one guest.


Minutes. Minutes for the February 26 meeting were approved.


President’s Report & Essential Issues.

  • USF’s plans to reopen in fall. The CDC has posted guidelines for reopening. Various news media have contacted UFF for comment.
  • COVID-19 Infection Report. As of today, 209 faculty / staff cases and 1,065 student cases, according to USF dashboard.

New Business.

  • Academic Analytics. There will be meetings to train College of Education about use of Academic Analytics.
  • Chapter Election. The ballots are out.
  • Tenure and Promotion Workshop.. Possible date – May 14.
  • Social Opportunity. It may be possible to organize socials later this year.
  • USFSM and USFSM. Some faculty at USFSM and USFSP are getting heavier teaching load assignments. In addition, faculty at USFSM and USFSP have less access to graduate students and programs. This will affect performance records for tenure and promotion.

    Reports.

    • Grievances. Some of the college-level administrators have not been performing adequately, and we are losing high-performance faculty and staff as a result.
    • Treasury. We are solvent.
