On Friday, October 23, at 5 pm, the United Faculty of Florida will hold a Townhall Meeting on budget cuts announced by the USF Administration. The Townhall will be held over Zoom, and all USF employees are invited. For a Zoom invitation, contact the Chapter Secretary.

We should mention that per Section 8.4A of the UFF USF Collective Bargaining Agreement (see page 10), furloughs cannot be unilaterally imposed, but they can be negotiated individually. Union members may want to contact UFF or attend a chapter meeting if approached over a furlough. Layoffs are regulated by Article 13, which brings us to the Townhall Meeting this Friday at 5 pm.
In the near future, UFF will hold a townhall meeting on early retirement, hosted by Steve Permuth, so stay tuned.
