We have a Facebook page!  Check out United Faculty of Florida at USF.  It is public (so anyone - students, colleagues, the provost - and read it) and all UFF members are eligible to join the group that posts items on it.  The page serves as a forum for UFF members to share issues and interests.  Check it out!

Patrician Pettijohn, candidate

Information: I am a strong supporter of faculty governance and the faculty union, and believe that both are needed to achieve gains for faculty, students and the university. The USF chapter of UFF needs to build membership, encourage greater participation of members, listen to our constituency, and respond to their needs. Currently, the USF chapter of UFF has the smallest percentage of members of any of the state universities. This not only makes us vulnerable to legislative attempts to decertify our union, but limits our influence when negotiating with the administration. I have served on the faculty senate and system faculty council, and have been active in UFF as a Senator for the past few years. We need a strong union, a strong senate and strong system council, working together, to create the university we envision.
