Deadline for Ratification Ballots Moved Forward to August 1
The deadline for recieving ratification ballots (for voting on whether to ratify the proposed 2014 - 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement) has been moved forward from Monday, August 4, to Friday, August 1, at 1 pm.
The procedure is for faculty to vote on ratification, and then the Board of Trustees vote on ratification, and then (if the contract is ratified) we get our raise asap. The Board has scheduled its next meeting on August 4 and the contract is on the agenda. If the faculty vote has not been counted by then, the Board's vote will be pushed to its next meeting - in September. That would delay our raise (if the contract is ratified) by at least a month or so.
So the UFF USF Executive Committee has decided to move the deadline for receiving ballots in the mail to Friday, August 1, at 5 pm. The ballots will be counted on Saturday, August 2, at 10:30 am in the Union Office, NEC 223. All employees of the Bargaining Unit (UFF members and non-members alike) are welcome to attend and watch.
By now, all employees of the UFF USF Bargaining Unit should have received a ballot packet. If you have not received a ballot packet by now, contact the Chapter Secretary to get a ballot packet. For more information, see the Biweekly Extra on ratification.
Finally, the UFF USF Executive Committee and the UFF USF Bargaining Team strongly recommend voting in favor of ratification.
